Alt Rock from Tampa Florida

Who are the members in your band and what is their role?
Mick- Singer
John- lead guitar
Charlie- rhythm guitar
Michael- Drums
Jared- bass

How did you meet?
(As told by John) Gonna try and condense this story as much as possible because it can get pretty lengthy. Charlie, Michael, and I have been playing in bands together forever since we were 13. A few years ago now, we had a hardcore band called Reveal Renew. Reveal used to play with a couple of Mick's bands, the main one being The Dead Legs (Another hardcore band from South Florida). In 2014, After both bands had split up, Michael, Charlie, and I were looking to do new things. After looking for a while, we mustered up the courage and asked Mick if he'd wanna sing in a new punk rock project. He said yes (Thank God) and already had a band name in mind he wanted to use, The Blonde Tongues. From there we put out our first EP, "New Air Blues", and over time, we refined our sound quite a bit, which you can hear if you listen to each release one after another. But shortly after putting out our last EP, Dream Machine, our old bassist left, so we needed a new bass player, but didn't know anyone who wasn't already in a band. So one night we went to an indie show in Ybor City to support some friends, and we saw Jared play. We instantly fell in love with his energy and sexy bass skills. A couple days after the show, we asked him to join and he said yes. After that, the rest is history. So that's pretty much the story of how we all came to be in the same band, told as briefly as possible haha.

How did you decide on your band name?
Mick had the idea for the name. He had been sitting on it for a while, waiting for the right time to use it. The name comes from a vintage piece of gear called The Blonder Tongue Audio Baton. We all thought it was really cool and different so we were all for it.

Who are your biggest influences?
That's a tough one. Some of our influences include, but are not necessarily limited to: The Killers, The Strokes, The Cars, Smashing Pumpkins, The Ramones, Oasis, My Bloody Valentine, Guided By Voices, Torche, Tame Impala, The Beatles, The Sex Pistols, and Queens of the Stone Age, to name a few. There's definitely more, but those should suffice for now.

Who writes the songs?
Another tough one haha. We all kinda write. Usually we come up with skeletons of songs on our own and bring them to the table. If they work out, and come together after some time, then we usually stick with them. So basically everyone kinda writes their own songs instrumentally, and then Mick usually writes lyrics and melodies.

What are you working on right now?
We're currently writing for a full length that we plan on recording in May.

What are your plans for the future?
We have the full length, but aside from that, shows. We really wanna get out there and play. Hopefully even get over to Europe. We've been getting quite a few requests lately to play there, which is actually just wild to us haha.

What is your favorite venue to play?
Not sure if we have one. Honestly, we'd rather play a house show over a traditional venue any day. There's nothing more authentic and intimate than packing in a small space and just sweating and jamming. It's what we grew up doing and it's Rock n Roll.

What is your favorite state to play?
In the past Tennessee has been really good to us. Plus they have big cliffs we can jump off of haha.

What is something your fans don’t know about you?
We've never kissed a girl... No no, that's false. Most of us have girlfriends. Umm, idk?? We're movie addicts!

Are you touring in the near future?/On tour right now?
We're definitely touring in the near future. Currently planning as we speak.

What is your favorite song to play live?
Right now it's a toss up between our newest single, Sure, and a new one we've been jamming that doesn't really have a permanent name yet, so we call it Space Jame.

What is your favorite gaming console?
PS3, but not for video games. We usually just use it to watch Netflix haha We're definitely a bunch of movie buffs. When we're not jamming we're probably either watching movies, drinking cheap beers, or both haha.

What show can we catch you binge watching?
A few of us are into Game of Thrones, most of us are into Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and that kinda stuff. Honestly there's really too many to name haha.

What was the first CD you bought?
John: Back in Black -AC/DC
Charlie: Half Hour of Power - Sum 41
Michael: Hybrid Theory -Linkin Park
Jared: Leave Home - Ramones
Mikil: Nirvana’s Greatest Hits

Do you have any crazy/funny tour stories?
We crashed a Halloween house party in Auburn, Alabama and all had a little bit too much to drink. There was another band playing, and once they finished we jumped on their gear and played a quick set. Then continued to drink a little too much and one of us may or may not have crapped our pants, left soiled undies in the sink and microwaved a bottle of ketchup… It was the best (unofficial) show of the tour.

Oh, and one time an entire lighting rig fell down on stage and almost took out Jared. He got out...

Who is your dream band to tour with?
Oasis, Nirvana, The Beatles, The Clash or The Ramones hands down. If we’re being realistic, then probably Iggy Pop, The Killers or Foo Fighters.

Where can we find your music?
Our website, http://theblondetongues.com. We're also on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Bandcamp, and pretty much anywhere you can buy/stream music.

Where can we buy your merch?
Also on http://theblondetongues.com, although we're currently making some changes to our online store.

Any final words?
We just put out a new single called, "Sure". Check out the song and video on our website!

Punk/Emo band from Orlando, FL

Who are the members in your band and what is their role?
Tony- Vocals/Guitar
Jeff- Vocals/Guitar
Tim- Bass/Style
Mark- Drums/Being the band hot guy

How did you meet?
Well, I met Jeff through a good friend of mine named, Kyle Melton. We kind of started this project just the two of us when we recorded our first ep "Bottom Feeder". I actually met Tim on a Florida musician's Facebook page, and I've never been happier to meet someone that way in my life, and we met Mark through our friend Harry (guitarist of Capstan) and Mark has been a phenomenal drummer and I am stoked to have him be a part of this band!

How did you decide on your band name?
I came up with the name one drunken night in Vermont, when I was packing things and planning to move to Florida. I kind of sat on it as a joke for a while and when Jeff and I were trying to come up with a name I tossed it out and he dug it too!

Who are your biggest influences?
Some of my personal biggest? I'd say I base my writing taste on band's like The Starting Line, Transit, Taking Back Sunday, and The Early November.

Who writes the songs?
Both Jeff and I will write a lot of ideas and we tend to send each other what seems like hundreds of ideas recorded poorly on our phone with an acoustic guitar and we pick what we like best, and collectively hash out ideas to solidify the song structures!

What are you working on right now?
We are finalizing the preproduction phase of our new record. We will hopefully be recording sometime next month!

What are your plans for the future?
We want to get ourselves out there. I think our next big purchase is going to be a van so we can start playing out of Orlando more!

What is your favorite venue to play?
Personally, I really love smaller atmospheres. We've played in quite a few places, and maybe my favorite show we played was the final Capstan House Show.

What is your favorite state to play?
Well, the only state we've played so far is Florida, so I guess we love playing here!

What is something your fans don’t know about you?
Hmmm, that's a tough one to give a fun example. I have definitely noticed that most people completely missed the reference to The Office in our song "Inconsistency".

Are you touring in the near future?/On tour right now?
We have no plans currently in motion, but we've been talking of doing something following the release of our new record!

What is your favorite song to play live?
Personally, I love to play our new song "High Road" live! We actually just released a video from us performing it over at Red Lion Audio!

What is your favorite piece of merchandise that you have released?
Probably the "Butters" shirts.

What show can we catch you binge watching?
The Office, always

Who are your guilty pleasure musicians to listen to?
Sometimes you'll catch me getting down heavy to Hillary Duff. Specifically, that song "Come Clean", so good!

Where can we find your music?
You can definitely find it on our Bandcamp page!
www.theyearidisappear.bandcamp.com
We're also on just about every place you can stream or download! Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play etc.

Where can we buy your merch?
Over at the Bandcamp page!

Alt/Emo/Rock from Orlando, FL

Who are the members in your band and what is their role?
LUVLOST consists of 4 members:
Joshy Sims - Bass / Vocals
Hayden Cler - Guitar / Vocals
Danny Strong - Drums
Ian Taylor - Guitar

How did you meet?
Me and Hayden met back in 2015 through some mutual friends and found very similar interest in music. After Hayden hearing the songs I had been writing, we decided to go all in this together and make LUVLOST what it is today.

How did you decide on your band name?
We had about 10 different band names in mind, one of them being a name we all came up with "Love Lust". After a couple days of conversation, our old drummer Pedro suggested changing "lust" to "lost" and we all knew that was the name that fit us the most. We changing the spelling a bit and there was no going back.

Who are your biggest influences?
We all come from very diverse background and pull influence from many different places, but for me personally I have always looked up to Brandon Urie of Panic! At The Disco and Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance. They really helped shape the way I write my lyrics and melodies.

Who writes the songs?
The song writing is honestly a group effort. Either me or Hayden have an idea for a song and then it just goes from there. Everyone in this band plays a big part in the writing process and I wouldn't have it any other way

What are you working on right now?
At the moment we are current in the process of writing and recording our Sophomore EP titled "la forêt". We have been working on this EP for quite some time and I speak for all of us when I say we can not wait to show all of our friends, family, and fans what we have been hard at work on!

What are your plans for the future?
We just want to put out music and tour. At the end of the day this is what we all LUV (yes.. LUV 😉) to do. Music is our life and it's all we want to do.

What is your favorite venue to play?
We have played many shows at The Social. The team working there, including one of our closest friends Marshall, has been so amazing to us and we can't thank them enough for the opportunity they have given us and the support they have given not only the band, but the support they have given us as people.

What is your favorite state to play?
LUVLOST in its own entity has not played outside of Orlando, but I have been on the road with Danny and Hayden with their other project Suck Brick Kid and we love being up north. Weather it is playing in New York, Boston, or my personal favorite northern city Philly, we have had some of the best experiences of our lives up there.

What is something your fans don’t know about you?
We're honestly just a bunch of drunk, crazy dudes who just want to play music. The support we have gotten has been amazing, but no matter what happens, this is what we love and what we will always do!

Are you touring in the near future?/On tour right now?
We do not currently have any tour set, but it is definitely in the works and we plan on being on the road by then end of this year. We are very exited to meet new people and play these songs we love in front of new crowd.

What is your favorite song to play live?
This is a hard question because I thoroughly enjoy playing out entire set, but at the moment my favorite song we have been playing is a new song off our upcoming EP called "Cheap Wine Tastes Better Out Of Expensive Glasses".

What is your favorite piece of merchandise that you have released?
There is the AWESOME shirt we have that I personally wear all the time. We printed the tee after the tragedy at Pulse night club happened. The back of the shirt has a depiction of two sailors kissing and reads "MAKE LUV NOT WAR". We donated a couple hundred dollars off the sales of those tees to the Pulse fund. We love to support our local community and the amazing people we have. Anyway we can give back, we always will.

What show can we catch you binge watching?
I am a big fan of Shameless. I watched all 6 season on Netflix in 2 weeks and I have no regrets!

Who are your guilty pleasure musicians to listen to?
I can't get enough of some crazy angry hardcore music at the moment. Hayden has recent been very into Moose Blood (which is one of personal favorites), but I can't get enough of these up and coming beat down band's such as Knocked Loose and Culture Killer. I will always have a soft spot for a bad ass riff with some angsty lyrics over it.

Where can we find your music?
Our music is sourced out to many places. For the main part, you can find out first EP "l'extrémité profondé" on Spotify, Apple Music, and at luvlostfl.bandcamp.com

Where can we buy your merch?
We sell most of merch at our shows, but we do have a few items online at luvlost.bigcartel.com

Rock from West Palm Beach, FL

Who are the members in your band and what is their role?
Ok so we have Joe, he plays bass and sings. Then Tommy, who plays guitar, Matt plays drums and (Ryan Cook) play guitar and also sing.

How did you meet?
Well I actually lived in the same neighborhood as Matt and was looking to form a band at the time. So I saw an add in my neighborhood clubhouse for drum lessons and called the number to ask if he had any students who would like to join a band. Turns out he was my age so we met up and jammed and I ended up joining his band. Then Matt met Tommy through high school. Tommy was wearing an ADTR shirt and they became friends because of it haha. Joe honestly just kinda fell out of the sky. I had a mutual friend and when we were looking for a bass player at the time I decided to randomly hit up this kid that I barely knew.

How did you decide on your band name?
We used to be Settle The Tides and we decided that we wanted to change our attitude and take this band more seriously, so we changed it to Chaser. Honestly we were just shooting ideas around and that one stuck.

Who are your biggest influences?
Our influences greatly vary. So its hard to say but I'll name a few. Four Year Strong, Nirvana, Seaway, Soundgarden, Superheaven, Basement and Foo Fighters. The list definitely goes on.

Who writes the songs?
We all collectively write the songs.

What are you working on right now?
Right now we are currently writing our second EP.

What are your plans for the future?
In May we're going up to Massachusetts to record

What is your favorite venue to play?
We don't really have a favorite venue but there was this really cool show in Ohio that we played in someones basement. So I would say anyones house haha.

What is your favorite state to play?
Our favorite state to play is New York. Great scene, great people.

What is something your fans don’t know about you?
We all love Chick fil a, we could live there.

Are you touring in the near future?/On tour right now?
We're actually planning to tour in July!

I just got home from this banger of a show and I wanted to make a recap post for anyone who wasn't able to come or for anyone who wants to relive the night.

Will's Pub is so far my all time favorite venue in Orlando. They have a huge bar hidden in the back of the venue, a sweet mini arcade in the entrance, tons of seating and chill areas, a great stage, and a really easy load in for the bands. Today was a matinee show and it had a great turn out and perfect weather to match.

Eric Lopciuk on vocals, Cody Unangst on bass and vocals, Matt Tartaglia on guitar, Matt Huntley on guitar, and James Williams on drums.

One Way!, easycore/poppunk band from Clearwater, kicked off the show with insane energy. If you haven't see these guys live I highly recommend it because they will put you in the best mood. You can listen to there music here.

Tony Murphy on vocals, Jeff Nichols on guitar and vocals, Tim Adkins on bass, and Mark Willberg on drums.

Next were my buds The Year I Disappear, pop punk/emo band from Orlando, and they killed it! Tonight was one of my (any many others) favorite performances by them. They ended with their new single "high road" which a little birdie told me they are in the process of recording so keep your eyes and ears out! You can listen to their music here.

Joshy Sims on bass and vocals, Hayden Cler on guitar and vocals, Danny Strong on drums, and Ian Marchionda on guitar.

Third of the night was LUVLOST; indie/pop punk band from orlando . This was my first time seeing them full band and I was not let down. Those boys can shred hard. They also said they are getting ready to record a new EP and played some of the new songs tonight which have me every excited to hear them recorded! P.S. Their drummer has the most badass drum set I have ever seen. Listen to their music here.

Glen Ramirez on vocals, Evan Torres on guitar, Jared Cove on bass, Evan Cain on guitar, and Joey Crochet on drums.

Bad Year, melodic pop punk bad from Orlando, went next. They had a really tight set and their fans went hard, as usual. Bad Year is leaving for tour this weekend so check their Facebook page to see if they are coming to your area! You can listen to their music here.

Anthony DeMario on vocals, Harry Bormann on guitar, Andrew Bozymowski on bass and vocals, Joseph Mabry guitar, Scott Fisher on drum.

Headlining the show was, Capstan, post hardcore band from Orlando. This picture sums up anything I could write about their set. They are heading out on tour in a few days, make sure you catch them live if they come to your area! You can listen to their music here.

All the bands who played tonight have merch! PLEASE support them through their online stores or by picking something up at a show. It would help them out and mean a lot to them.

This was an incredible show with great bands and amazing fans; huge thanks to Will's Pub for hosting this event. Make sure you follow all the bands on their social media to stay in the loop with any updates they have to share. Also, keep your eyes peeled for interviews from all the bands who played tonight, as well! (if you have any questions you would like them to answer, comment them below)

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more interviews, recaps, and band of the week posts.

*I promise the photo quality will improve! Thank you for baring with me! ♡
